3 years ago Emily was told she should never ride a bike again, after a series of near misses and an altercation with a parked car.
She was devastated – she loved cycling, but being diagnosed with epilepsy and suffering multiple seizures each day she thought her cycling days were over.
Last year she received pioneering new treatment to control her condition which involved an operation, and having the equivalent of a ‘pacemaker’ fitted that helps to regulate brain activity to control her epilepsy.
In July she will take on the challenge to cycle 100 miles, from Liverpool to Chester and back again to raise funds for Ykids and her work with Children and young people in Bootle.
