Rise last week was amazing! We had some epic live music from some of our young people (Dan, Isaac and Josh) We also had some new games involving bottle flipping, the return of the lip sync battle and we had an interview with one of our team.
Our night started with the anticipated return of the Lip Sync Battle with our very own Neil and Lewis competing against each other for the win. Neil took to the stage first and performed Ed Sheeran's "Galway Girl" but the young people weren't so convinced in his performance although they enjoyed laughing at the outfit he wore. This set the tone for a fun and eventful evening.
We revamped our game of water roulette and introduced "bottle flipping" to decide the young people's fate. Katelyn went up against Jack and held her nerve to come out victorious. Some excellent live music from Dan and Josh was up next which led into one of our new games "In for a penny, In for a milkshake". Ten young people had the chance to work their way through 5 rounds and succeed in winning themselves a milkshake. Although few made it past the first hurdle, we did eventually end up with one winner.
It was then that time in the evening to hear from one of our team. We had the privilege of hearing a bit more about Josh and how God has changed his life. Josh has had some pretty funny and eventful things happen in his life but nothing as important as deciding to live for God.
With some more live music from Isaac and a game of "Speak Out" the night ended with our 2nd Lip Sync performance as Lewis turned into Britney Spears and wowed the crowd with a rendition of "Hit me baby one more time" There was no contest to who the young people thought was the winner as Lewis goes into next month defending his title.
If you missed out, make sure you're there on May 22nd @North Perk 7-9pm
