Rise last week was Awesome! We had some epic Karaoke style music from some of our young people, we played some crazy games, a Lip Sync battle that can only be described as "Sensational" and we had an interview with one of our team.
Our night started with the winner of last month's Lip Sync Battle Lewis performing "All Star" by Smash Mouth dressed as Shrek. This was another great performance from Lewis, who then threw down the gauntlet to the young people to see who wanted to challenge him. This again set the tone for a fun and eventful evening.
We played our newly created game of "bottle flipping" water roulette were our last month's defeated contestant Jack went up against Steven to see if he could shake off his defeat and hold his nerve to come out victorious. After a close contest, Jack came out as the winner and Steven endured a cold soaking.
Some excellent karaoke from some of our young people was up next which then led into an interview with one of our team. It was great to hear a bit more about Lydia and how God impacts her life each day. Her advice to just "GO FOR IT" to any of us wanting to know more about God and how to become a Christian was a challenge not to forget.
"In for a penny, In for a milkshake" returned with 10 young people getting the chance to work their way through 5 rounds and succeed in winning themselves a milkshake. Most of the young people made it through the first 3 rounds and even our volunteers bowed out in the earlier rounds, The 4th round got us down to 2 young people attempting the final "8 second challenge" were we eventually ended up with one winner - Jack. There will be more of this in the coming months...
With some more karaoke from our young people and a new game of "stocking head", the highlight of the night was having 3 challengers to Lewis for our 2nd Lip Sync Battle performances. Ciara, Cassie and Kirsty and Becca gave brilliant performances that left Lewis feeling his reign as champion was coming to an end. It was a close contest between our challengers to who the young people thought was the winner but Ciara came out on top and goes into next month defending his title against Paul.
If you missed out, get yourselves there on June 19th @North Perk 7-9pm
