Looking back at the last few months of Rise and the amazing stuff we have done has been great! We have had special guest speakers, live music, karaoke, plenty of new messy games and free milkshake vouchers coming out of our ears.
In February, Rise was up and running once again after our break during "the Big Move" to the new office. We had some live music from some of our young volunteers and a catch up with Neil about where Ykids is up to. We ate pancakes without using our hands (which got a bit messy) we played a special edition game of "Winter Olympics" Epic or Fail and finished our night with some musical dares and some of the young people dancing round like unicorns. A fun night all round!
We introduced our newest member of the team to Rise in March as Louisa took control of the high demand of songs for our eager young people during karaoke. Even though the weather had been bad, it didn't stop us having a fun evening. We watched a video about the meaning of Easter and why we should think about Jesus at this time of year. In for a penny made a return and one young person came away victorious after passing all 5 rounds and the famous "8 second challenge".
April's weather was slightly different to March as the sun was shining and we all needed North Perk's famous milkshakes to cool us down. Live music and time to chill was the recipe for an enjoyable night, not forgetting an epic tournament game of "Tube Ball". Louisa told us why her faith is so important to her as Emily interviewed her about her journey with God.
Our latest edition of Rise came in May as we welcomed a special guest to be interviewed by one of the team. Johnmark told us what it's like to living for Jesus and how he was chased by a bee in North Park which had us all laughing. A special football edition of Epic or Fail to get us ready for the Champions League Final and plenty of free milkshakes dished out meant we all left happy after having a great night.
